elephants. By veronica ybarra. African elephants. They are larger then the Asian elephants.both the male and the female have tusks. But less hairy then the asian elephants. MAMMOTHS AND MASTODONS. THESE ANIMALS are over 1000 years old.they lived during the ice age! But now they are extinct.

  2. African elephants • They are larger then the Asian elephants.both the male and the female have tusks. But less hairy then the asian elephants.

  3. MAMMOTHS AND MASTODONS • THESE ANIMALS are over 1000 years old.they lived during the ice age! But now they are extinct.

  4. Food and feeding They are vegetarians. They eat grass, foliage, fruit, and twigs. They use their trunks to carry .

  5. Teeth and trunks • They only have 4 teeth that are 12in. That can be replaced 6 times. They can breathe through and smell, and can pick things up with their trunk.

  6. Life span • They can live a long time, up to 70 years. WOW! .

  7. Communication • They communicate by making rumble noises. They stomp if danger. And make trumpet noises a lot.

  8. habits • They have strong family trees. They bury the dead with twigs and leaves. Then stand by the grave for a long time.

  9. sizes • The boys are 0ft. Tall to shoulder. The girls are a little smaller. The boys weigh 6 tons, and the girls weigh 4 tons.

  10. elephants breeding • By the time their 14 or 15 years old they look for a mate. Baby elephants are called a calf. altho are 33in. Tall and 250 pounds.
