New for FP7 Submission • Proposal template given in Guide for applicants: • Closely aligned to the evaluation criteria • Page limits set • Must be through the Electronic proposal submission system • Operational by 19 March • Proposals are normally submitted and evaluated in a single stage • Deadlines are strictly enforced Egyptian National S&T Information Network (ENSTINET)

Submission • Two-stage submission • May be used for large, ‘bottom up’ calls • First stage: short proposal (about 10-20pages), dealing with main scientific concepts and ideas • use of limited set of criteria • successful proposers invited to submit complete proposals Egyptian National S&T Information Network (ENSTINET)

Evaluation of Proposals:Basic Facts & Figures • Funding decisions are based on peer review of research proposals • High quality evaluators are at the core of the evaluation system • Involves 4500 to 5000 independent experts every year • About 16,000 proposals (and rising) are evaluated annually Egyptian National S&T Information Network (ENSTINET)

FP7 – Roadmap • Consult the Work Programme. • Decide on the activity areas available under currently opened call for proposal from the Call Fiche. • You have an idea or vision for a research project. • Consult the rules for FP7 research. • Seek out other EU partners or participants from abroad who share your vision and with which you can cooperate. • Consortium formation. • Write your part in the proposal and negotiate the required budget. • Proposal submission according to call for proposal deadline and dedicated work programme . • The European Commission guarantees proper evaluation of your submission by 3-7 independent evaluators, who are experts in that field. • The Commission will notify you of the evaluation results.
