SPMS EXPERIENCE • No oracle @ LNS before, so free version http://download.oracle.com/otn/linux/oracle10g/10201/ 10201_database_linux_x86_64.cpio.gz http://download.oracle.com/otn/linux/ias/101310/ soa_linux_x86_101310_disk1.cpio • Windows or linux? • Tried on MS, but strong difficulties on OAS installation: Perl, Apache not found??? • Switched to Linux: • RED HAT 4 WS: failed (Apache conflict) • RED HAT 4 ES: failed (https didn’t start – conflict on the required packages: libstdc++…) • RED HAT 4 AS Academic Server (booked): working good(3 weeks later…and with the useful help of Roberto & Ivan)

SPMS EXPERIENCE Installation problems: • Oracle DB10g installation(4 patches given by Roberto - Metalink) • Oracle AS installation not clear: I suggest to explain it in the installation Read-Me • File settings (dads.conf, tnsnames.ora…): OK • SPMS installation: OK • SPMS configuration: now at work, OK • Normal use of SPMS (Registration, proceedings management, conference planning) • Credit card payment with a travel agency system Thanks a lot to Roberto & Ivan

  3. SPMS EXPERIENCE Concluding: • I suggest You to develop the installation Read-Me in a detailed way • I suggest You to give human expert and software support to new users, to save time
