  1. Welcome Eastern Lake Ontario Invasive Species Symposium Hosted by SLELO PRISM Partners c/o The Nature Conservancy With a generous donation from Douglaston Salmon Run Inc.

  2. Establishment of PRISM’s was one of twelve recommendations made by the NYS Invasive Species Task Force in 2005. “Teaming Up To Stop The Spread of Invasive Species”

  3. Resources include: • The entire eastern shoreline of Lake Ontario. • A significant portion of the St. Lawrence River. • Black Lake. • Oneida Lake and Delta Lake. • Salmon River & Reservoir. • Tug Hill forest lands. • Globally rare alvars. • Fens, wetlands and wildlife management areas. SLELO – PRISM Includes: St. Lawrence County Jefferson County Lewis County Oneida County Oswego County

  4. Our partnership is robust and our partners are amazing. We have 17 formal partners who are devoted to the success of our PRISM. We cover 24 Priority Conservation Areas spread over five counties including 7,387 square miles of land area including some of the most fascinating freshwater resources and forest lands in the world.

Our Mission The mission of the SLELO PRISM is to protect native habitats, biological diversity, natural areas, parks, preserves, forests, freshwater resources and open space by using a collaborative and integrated approach to invasive species prevention and management. Our Approach Is through invasive species Prevention, Early Detection & Rapid Response, Cooperation, Information Management, Control on PCA’s, Site Restoration and Education & Outreach.
