Tour basics - Travel Getting there • We will depart from school by coach on Monday 10th July at 4am and will fly from Manchester Airport. • Jet 2- Departure 8:15am, arrival 12:20pm. • Please drop your child off at school at 3:30am on Monday 10/7/17 in the bus bay at the front of school. • On the coach remain seated at all times with your seat belts on – this is for England and Spain • Bring i-pods/ phones / other quiet activities for the coach • No rubbish on the coach please (use the bin bags provided) • No flash photography – distracts the driver Returning home • We will depart from Málaga at 7:40pm on Friday 14th July and arrive back at school at 2:30am. • Please be there on time!

Tour basics Our accommodation • We will stay at the Hotel Bali in Benalmadena for 4 nights. • This accommodation is on a half board basis. • We are yet to receive rooming arrangments from the hotel, these will be allocated nearer the time. • There is a swimming pool, please sign and return the document that your child’s group leader will hand out. • €15 behaviour/ damage deposit, payable in cash on arrival.

  6. Tour basics • Pupils will need to buy breakfast on the first day of the trip. We will be having tapas at 2pm in Spain. • They may also want to buy an evening meal at the airport on the way home. • Pupils will have to buy all lunches whilst in Spain. • Breakfast and dinner will be eaten in the restaurant at the hotel. • The hotel will be made aware of any dietary requirements you have noted on your forms.

  7. The currency in Spain is the Euro. All trips are paid for, however pupils may wish to buy souvenirs etc. at the attractions and local shops. Lunches aren’t provided. They may want to bring some pounds too for the journey home. Tour basicsCurrency

Tour basicsKit list • Euros • A mobile phone if possible • Any medication • Plug adaptor/ chargers • Small backpack • You may want to consider a refillable water bottle • Comfortable clothes for journey • I-pods, book etc. for journeys • Sensible shoes! There is a lot walking involved. • Camera • A hat! • Toiletries, sunscreen, after sun, insect repellant • Travel sickness tablets if needed!

  9. Luggage. • Please note that one medium sized suitcase should be sufficient for the 5 day trip and we will be booking these into the hold of the aircraft. This must weigh less than 22kg. • Pupils may also carry one bag on to the cabin of the aircraft, but this must weigh no more than 10kgs with maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm (including the handle, pockets and wheels). • Any liquids taken in hand luggage must be less that 100ml and must be stored in a single transparent re-sealable plastic bag (these can be bought in most large chemists at a very small cost). • Liquids include: drinks, creams, perfume, deodorant, sprays, gels, makeup, inhalers etc. • Anything larger than this should be stored in the main suitcase which is going in the aircraft hold (I suggest you store this in a plastic bag to protect clothes from any spillages on route).

  10. The weather in Southern Spain will be very hot and very sunny. • Make sure you drink lots of water, re-apply sun screen regularly and wear a hat!

  11. Day 1 – Monday • Leave KHS at 04.00 • 08.15 flight departs Manchester • 12.20 arrival in Spain • 13.30 ETA Benalmádena • 14.00 depart for tapas • 17.00 check into rooms • 20.00 evening meal and bed! What will we see & do?

  13. What will we see & do? Day 3 – Wednesday 08.00 Breakfast 8.30 depart for Seville 11.30 Alcazar Palace 13.30 Seville Cathedral & Giralda Tower 15.00 Guided Tour- Seville FC stadium 16.30 depart back to hotel 20.00 Evening meal

  14. What will we see & do? Day 4 - Thursday 8.00 am Breakfast 9.00am depart for Mijas Aqua Park 10.00am ETA Mijas Aqua Park 4:30pm Visit Mijas Pueblo 5:30pm Return to hotel 19.30pm evening meal, and packing!

  15. What will we see & do? Day 5 – Friday 8.00 am Breakfast 10:00am Check out and enjoy free time in Benalmadena 2:30pm Depart for Málaga 7:20pm Depart for Málaga airport 9:40pm Flight LS894 departs 11:55pm Arrive at Manchester Airport Saturday 2:30 am Anticipated arrival at school

  17. The consumption or purchase of alcohol is not allowed. No smoking or purchase of cigarettes and lighters. No purchase of unsuitable souvenirs i.e.. Lasers, knives, replica guns. Listen and follow instructions from KHS and other staff. Night time curfews must be followed and pupils must stay in their own rooms. Do not carry excess money or valuables. Wear seatbelts and behave sensibly on all transport. Respect meeting times and be punctual! Keep room doors closed and locked. What to expect

  18. BEHAVIOUR AND EXPECTATIONS On the coach, wear seatbelts, no standing in the aisles Look out for each other. Stay in small groups of three / four. Do not go off on your own. Know where your meeting points are and keep contact details with you at all times. Sensible behaviour in bedrooms – most accidents on school trips are trapped fingers in doors, slips and trips Do not become familiar with anyone outside the group Keep the room tidy and clear up any rubbish before departure Respect out of bounds areas Pay attention to fire drill and health and safety instructions at the hotel

  20. Don’t forget… Please see your group leader to hand in passports, EHIC, swimming documents and signed behaviour policy document. Collect your child at KHS at 2.30am on Saturday 15th July.
