  4. Personal Protective Clothing and Equipment (PPC&E) # Is used by employees to prevent any hazards or risks which can be provided by the environment of the workplace OR # Any item of clothing or equipment that employees are used to reduce their exposure to hazards or risks in the work place

  5. The importance of the use of PPC&E Can prevent hazards or risks The accidents mightnotbe serious by using it correctly Can protect the working environmentin the workplace To achieve a safe and healthy if employees are selected carefully and use and maintained properly

  6. Types of protection Head Protection e.g. hairnets, caps, hats, hoods, helmets

  7. Types of protection Hearing Protection e.g. ear plugs, ear muffs

  8. Types of protection Eye and Face Protection e.g. face masks, visors, glasses/goggles

  9. Types of protection Hand Protection e.g. gloves

  10. Types of protection Respiration Protection e.g. face masks, air filter units

  11. Foot and Work wear Protection e.g. anti-slip shoes, suit Types of protection

  12. Personal grooming and hygiene * Wash hair at least 3 times a week * Keeping the skin clean * Cover hair and tie long hair back (if its necessary required) * Wear a cleaned and pressed uniform * Keep your nails short * Do not wear any jewellery(in a kitchen)

  15. Safe posture including : sitting, standing and bending 1. Band your knees and hips when you lift something, and keep your back straight 2. Hold an object close to your body when you carry it 3. If you stand for a long time, put one foot on a small stool or box for a while 4. If you sit for a long time, put feet on a small stool so your knees are higher than your hips. 5. Don’t wear high heeled shoes 6. Don’t sleep on your stomach

The importance of safe handling of chemicals, poisons and dangerous materials - understandthe chemicals, poisons and dangerous material before choosing the equipments. - make a separate move for each hazard class. - following the procedure processof safety and healthy - if you use a cart to move containers make sure don’t slip off and do not over load the cart.

The main points to remember when dealing with emergency : Fire : -Stop, think, act -Assist anyone in immediate danger -Do not use lifts -Assist with evacuation through designated escape routes -Isolate the fire by closing doors -Contact the switchboard and head fire warden -Break the glass on red break glass alarm or call the fire brigade on 000 -Attempt to extinguish the fire if safe to do
