  4. Growing Places Fund • £16.1m of funding • 2nd round pre-call out now • Projects include: • Haverhill Research Park • Fenland Horticulture & Land Based Skills Centre • Future Business Centre (Social Enterprise) • Transport improvements

  5. LEP Prize Challenge • £1m fund for Voluntary and Social Enterprise led projects • Getting people job ready (1,000) and into work (250) • Eight winners in the 1st round

  6. European Structural and Investment Funds 2014-20 • Single EU Growth Programme for England combining: • European Social Fund (ESF – skills, employability and social inclusion) • European Regional Development Fund (ERDF - innovation and enterprise) • European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD - agriculture and rural development) • €75.5 million (£64 million) provisional allocation for GCGP area 2014-20 (ERDF and ESF) • Further small allocation under EAFRD

  7. LEP role in European Funding2014-20 • LEPs responsible for prioritising spend locally • GCGP to submit final European Structural and Investment Funding Strategy to Government by 31 January 2014 • 20% of ESF to tackle social inclusion and combat poverty • Programmes to begin delivery mid-2014 • GCGP to facilitate proposals for local projects • Public and private sector match funding required • National match funding options available – including Big Lottery and Prince’s Trust for Social Inclusion
