  2. Separation of Powers Why is this system necessary? This system divides power evenly between the 3 branches of the National Government so that NO ONE branch is more powerful than the other.

  5. Checks & Balances This systems makes sure that no one branch of government can become more powerful than the other. The branches cannot do anything without the approval of one other branch Why is this system necessary?

  6. Federalism(Amendment 10) Federalism: The division of power between the states & the national Government.
