  5. Music Goals for Students ♪To uniquely experience & enjoy music. ♫ Learn musical concepts through a variety of quality music literature .

  6. National Music Standards 1. Singing, alone and with others, a varied repertoire of music. 2. Performing on instruments, alone and with others, a varied repertoire of music. 3. Improvising melodies, variations, and accompaniments. 4. Composing and arranging music within specified guidelines. 5. Reading and notating music. 6. Listening to, analyzing, and describing music. 7. Evaluating music and music performances. 8. Understanding relationships between music, the other arts, and disciplines outside the arts. 9. Understanding music in relation to history and culture.

  7. Concert Dates for 2010-2011 • Dec. 6th - 8th Grade Winter Concert • Dec. 12th - 7th Grade Winter Concert • June 4th - 8th Grade Spring Concert • June 6th - 7th Grade Spring Concert CONCERTS ARE WORTH 25% of student grade per semester

  9. SPRING MUSICAL - Aladdin Informational Meeting: September 22nd Auditions: October 20th & 21st 2:30 – 4:00 Rehearsals: Tuesday & Thursday after school Performance: March 29th & 30th
