Some ICT applications where Norway is a worldwide leader : - The business portal Altinn - The citizen portal Mypage - Telemedicine - The mapping area, i.e.electronic sea charts The broadband penetration will be 99.8% of the households in dec. 2008, after a successful incentive policy in two phases.   3. The business portal Altinn gives businesses: • Access to all public electronic services • An option to have all public replies sent to an electronic mailbox • A direct link to all relevant forms

  5. The citizen portal Mypage was launched in Dec. 2006 • Single access point • Single sign on – less hassle • Open source based • More than 200 services • More than 40 agencies • In sept. 2007, Mypage won the EU eGovernment Award

Information security is essential • The Norwegian National Security Authority (NSM, under the Ministry of Defence) is the cross-sectoral professional and supervisory authority within the protective security services. It includes NORCERT, our Computer Emergency Response Team. • NSM’s purpose is to counter threats to the independence and security of the realm and other vital national security interests, primarily espionage, sabotage or acts of terrorism. Protective security measures shall not be more intrusive than strictly necessary. • FAD has no coordinating role in a crisis, but the responsibility to coordinate preventive activity, promoting a culture of security, and has established NORSIS in Gjøvik for this purpose.
