  1. Accessing the Parent Portal …or… getting a handle on how your child is doing in class

  2. Bob says, “The answer is the Aeries Parent Portal…online access to your child’s current grades.” So you’re wondering how your kid is doing in class. “But what is the best way to find out?”you ask yourself.

  3. See your child’s grades as they are posted by participating teachers • Eliminate the need for those pesky weekly progress reports. • Improve communication between you, your child, and your child’s teachers. • Stay involved in your child’s learning. Why the Aeries Parent Portal?

  4. O.K., you love the idea of using the Parent Portal, but how do you do it? • Go to the CMS office and get your child’s permanent ID and verification code numbers. Write them down in a secure place! • Go to the school district web site or the CMS site, find the Aeries Parent Portal link. • www.mcsd.k12.ca.us • http://www.mcsd.k12.ca.us/sections/schools/Cruickshank • Click the link and away we go….

  5. Don’t touch these fields yet!! CLICK THIS LINK FIRST!! 4) After clicking the link, you will see this login page. You will create new account starting here. By clicking this link, you are going to create a brand new student account

  6. Under “Account Type” select “Parent,” then click <Next> Account information: Fill out the 4 boxes and choose <Next> Please make sure to type them the same way both times. 5) You will see a window appear with the following instruction. This indicates that you are creating a “Parent Account.” 6) This window allows you to enter your e-mail and password. Very important stuff, here!!!

  7. 6) Check your email and open the email sent from abi@mcsd.k12.ca.us. They are simply verifying the user. 7) To verify and complete your account registration click on <Confirm Current Email Address> in the window that opens.

  8. Are ya tuckered out yet? Relax pardner, we’re almost thar!

  9. 7) The next window to open is.... Ya’ll remember that ID and Verification Number ya’ll got from them office folks way back in step one? Well, along with yer phone number, jest fill ‘em in the appropriate fields in the Student Verification window. Member to click <next>!

  10. 8)Whew...the last step. Emergency Contact Verification: Select the Contact record that represents you and click <Next>>

  11. Time to view those grades! 9) Once you are logged on, click on the “Grades” tab at the top right hand side. You should then click on the “Gradebook” bar to the top left.
