  2. The USBC Mission “To provide benefits, resources and programs that enhance the bowling experience.”

Youth Membership Eligibility Rule 400 USBC Youth membership is open to those who have not reached their 20th birthday prior to August 1 of the current bowling season and have maintained compliance with USBC Youth Rule 400. If the youth purchases their membership in a summer league and turn 20 before August 1st, they will be permitted to complete the league. Age limitation does not apply to mentally challenged. a. Youth bowler may not bowl in any activity (substitute or pace included) which offers any of the following as prizes such as: 1. cash or bonds 2. merchandise exceeding $500 in value

  4. Youth Membership Eligibility Rule 400 b. Youth may bowl in SINGLES competition (including sidepots/brackets) as long as: The competition agrees to award the youth's prize in the form of a scholarship; The youth signs the USBC Singles Competition Prize Waiver waiving his/her rights to any prize in violation of this rule. Buying or selling of earned prizes is prohibited. The prizes authorized by a state high school athletic association or collegiate athletic association recognized by USBC and USBC Collegiate are not subject to he limitations of this rule.

  5. Membership Options The Standard membership costs $17 and features a new USBC youth Jersey. The High School option is $5 and gives high school bowlers the option of certifying their average during High School competition. The Basic option features a cost of only $5 and was designed for shorter season league cycles while still giving youths an opportunity to maintain a certified average.  And lastly, the new ROLL N GROW is divided into 2 categories. One If you want the jersey it will cost $17, othwise it is $8. The programwas developed for kids 7 and under and features some great assets from Bowlopolis.

  13. New Changes to the Pepsi Tournament The Pepsi Youth Championships will now feature five divisions for both boys and girls – U6, U8, U12, U15 and U20, and all divisions will use scratch scores. Previously, the Pepsi had divisions for 11 and under and 12 and over using handicap, and a scratch division for 12 and over. Starting in 2012-13 the top qualifier from each state in the U15 and U20 divisions of the Pepsi Youth Championships will receive a spot in the North Pointe Junior Gold Championships. Previously, the top two boys and top two girls in the 12 and over scratch division earned spots in the Junior Gold national tournament.Bowlers who qualify in the U15 division through Pepsi must compete in the U15 division at the North Pointe Junior Gold Championships. The U6 division is optional and may not be offered in every state.

RVP: Registered Volunteer Program How can associations help with the RVP Program? “Associations can meet with bowling centers and discuss the importance of the program, talk to the local coaches and ensure their board and youth committee members are up to date” Do You Know Who’s on the Lanes with your Kids? • RVP- A USBC program designed to keep individuals with criminal records involving sexual misconduct, violence and other felony behaviors out of USBC Youth programs. • Who? Anyone 18 years of age and older who has contact with USBC Youth bowlers including coaches, league officials, bowling center employees. Sharon Moen RVP Program Director
