READ: EZEKIEL 35:1-3 JUDGMENT ON MOUNT SEIR 1 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 2 "Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir and prophesy against it, 3 and say to it, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: "Behold, O Mount Seir, I am against you; I will stretch out My hand against you, And make you most desolate; 4 I shall lay your cities waste, And you shall be desolate. Then you shall know that I am the LORD.

READ: GENESIS 25:25 25 And the first came out red. He was like a hairy garment all over; so they called his name Esau. NKJV READ: GENESIS 27:11-12 11 Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, "Look, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth-skinned man. 12 Perhaps my father will feel me, and I shall seem to be a deceiver to him; and I shall bring a curse on myself and not a blessing. READ: DEUTERONOMY 2:1-5 1 We turned and journeyed into the wilderness of the Way of the Red Sea, as the LORD spoke to me, and we skirted Mount Seir for many days. 2 And the LORD spoke to me, saying: 3 'You have skirted this mountain long enough; turn northward. 4 And command the people, saying, ‘You are about to pass through the territory of your brethren, the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir; and they will be afraid of you. Therefore watch yourselves carefully. 5 Do not meddle with them, for I will not give you any of their land, no, not so much as one footstep, because I have given Mount Seir to Esau as a possession. NKJV

Then you shall know that I am the LORD. WHY PROPHESY AGAINST MOUNT SEIR? EDOM? READ: ISAIAH 34:8-10 8 It is the day of the LORD‘S vengeance, The year of recompense for the cause of Zion. 9 Its streams shall be turned into pitch, And its dust into brimstone; Its land shall become burning pitch. 10 It shall not be quenched night or day; Its smoke shall ascend forever. From generation to generation it shall lie waste; No one shall pass through it forever and ever. NKJV

READ: EZEKIEL 25:12-14 12 'Thus says the Lord GOD: ‘Because of what Edomdid against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and has greatly offended by avenging itself on them,’ 13 therefore thus says the Lord GOD: ‘I will also stretch out My hand against Edom, cut off man and beast from it, and make it desolate from Teman; Dedan shall fall by the sword. 14 I will lay My vengeance on Edom by the hand of My people Israel, that they may do in Edom according to My anger and according to My fury; and they shall know My vengeance,’ says the Lord GOD. NKJV

READ: ISAIAH 63:1-4 1 Who is this who comes from Edom, With dyed garments from Bozrah, This One who is glorious in His apparel, Traveling in the greatness of His strength? — ‘I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.’ 2 Why is Your apparel red, And Your garments like one who treads in the winepress? 3 ‘I have trodden the winepress alone, And from the peoples no one was with Me. For I have trodden them in My anger, And trampled them in My fury; Their blood is sprinkled upon My garments, And I have stained all My robes. 4 For the day of vengeance is in My heart, And the year of My redeemed has come. NKJV

READ: EZEKIEL 35:5-6 JUDGMENT ON MOUNT SEIR 5 "Because you have had an ancient hatred, and have shed the blood of the children of Israel by the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, when their iniquity came to an end, 6 therefore, as I live," says the Lord GOD, "I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you; since you have not hated blood, therefore blood shall pursue you.

Thus says your brother Israel: 'You know all the hardship that has befallen us, 15 how our fathers went down to Egypt, and we dwelt in Egypt a long time, and the Egyptians afflicted us and our fathers. 16 When we cried out to the LORD, He heard our voice and sent the Angel and brought us up out of Egypt; now here we are in Kadesh, a city on the edge of your border.

We will not pass through fields or vineyards, nor will we drink water from wells; we will go along the King's Highway; we will not turn aside to the right hand or to the left until we have passed through your territory.’ 18 Then Edom said to him, ‘You shall not pass through my land, lest I come out against you with the sword.’

READ: NUMBERS 20:14-21 19 So the children of Israel said to him, ‘We will go by the Highway, and if I or my livestock drink any of your water, then I will pay for it; let me only pass through on foot, nothing more.’ 20 Then he said, ‘You shall not pass through.’ So Edom came out against them with many men and with a strong hand. 21 Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his territory; so Israel turned away from him. And the LORD preserved David wherever he went. NKJV

And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another.

EDOM MISTREATED HIS BROTHER READ: OBADIAH 10-16 10 ‘For violence against your brother Jacob, Shame shall cover you, And you shall be cut off forever. 11 In the day that you stood on the other side: In the day that strangers carried captive his forces, When foreigners entered his gates And cast lots for Jerusalem - Even you were as one of them. 12 ‘But you should not have gazed on the day of your brother In the day of his captivity; Nor should you have rejoiced over the children of Judah In the day of their destruction; Nor should you have spoken proudly In the day of distress.

Indeed, you should not have gazed on their affliction In the day of their calamity, Nor laid hands on their substance In the day of their calamity. 14 You should not have stood at the crossroads To cut off those among them who escaped; Nor should you have delivered up those among them who remained In the day of distress. 15 ‘For the day of the LORD upon all the nations is near; As you have done, it shall be done to you; Your reprisal shall return upon your own head. 16 For as you drank on My holy mountain, So shall all the nations drink continually; Yes, they shall drink, and swallow, And they shall be as though they had never been. WHAT WILL THE LORD DO TO THEM? ‘I will make Mount Seir most desolate’ READ: JEREMIAH 49:17-18 17 ‘Edom also shall be an astonishment; Everyone who goes by it will be astonished And will hiss at all its plagues. 18 As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah And their neighbors,’ says the LORD, ‘No one shall remain there, Nor shall a son of man dwell in it.’ NKJV

WHAT WILL THE LORD DO TO THEM? ‘I will make Mount Seir most desolate’ READ: EZEKIEL 29:11 11 Neither foot of man shall pass through it nor foot of beast pass through it, and it shall be uninhabited forty years. WHAT WILL THE LORD DO TO THEM? ‘I will fill its mountains with the slain’ ‘I will make you perpetually desolate’ READ: JEREMIAH 49:13 13 ‘I have sworn by Myself,’ says the LORD, ‘that Bozrah shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse. And all its cities shall be perpetual wastes.’

READ: ISAIAH 34:5-6 5 ‘My sword shall be bathed in heaven; Indeed it shall come down on Edom, And on the people of My curse, for judgment. 6 The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, It is made overflowing with fatness, With the blood of lambs and goats, With the fat of the kidneys of rams. For the LORD has a sacrifice in Bozrah, And a great slaughter in the land of Edom. NKJV

READ: EZEKIEL 26:20-21 20 I will bring you down with those who descend into the Pit, to the people of old, and I will make you dwell in the lowest part of the earth, in places desolate from antiquity, with those who go down to the Pit, so that you may never be inhabited; and I shall establish glory in the land of the living. 21 I will make you a terror, and you shall be no more; though you are sought for, you will never be found again,' says the Lord GOD. NKJV

QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 35:8-9 8 And I will fill its mountains with the slain; on your hills and in your valleys and in all your ravines those who are slain by the sword shall fall. 9 I will make you perpetually desolate, and your cities shall be uninhabited; then you shall know that I am the LORD. WHAT WILL THE LORD DO TO THEM? READ: MALACHI 1:3-4 3 ‘Esau I have hated, And laid waste his mountains and his heritage For the jackals of the wilderness.’ 4 Even though Edom has said, ‘We have been impoverished, But we will return and build the desolate places,’ Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘They may build, but I will throw down; They shall be called the Territory of Wickedness, And the people against whom the LORD will have indignation forever.’ NKJV

'These two nations and these two countries shall be mine and we will possess them‘ WHAT DID THEY NOT KNOW? ‘the LORD was there’ HOW WILL THE LORD RESPOND? ‘I will do according to your anger & your envy’
