  3. Solution Fluency Lesson Plan: 3 Little Pigs Scientific Method Students use the scientific method to decide if the wolf could really blow down the pigs’ houses. They make a hypothesis and then try to blow down hay, sticks, and bricks with a fan. Afterward, we discuss the results as a class.

  4. Information Fluency Access digital information to retrieve information Assess the information that is retrieved; Did the information come from a good source?

  5. Information Fluency Lesson Plan: Since I teach 4 year olds, they don’t use the computer to search for information. So, I was thinking about showing the children how we find information on the internet using the smartboard. We can research how to check the weather online and then discuss what the different websites tell us.

  6. Collaboration Fluency Teamworking with virtual and real partners in an online environment to create digital products. Lesson Plan: • Using the Skype education site, find other classrooms in the United States/World to read books to each other or discuss a particular unit.

  7. Creativity Fluency Using design, art, and storytelling to create a product Lesson Plan: Students draw pictures to create a story and then use Voicethread to tell their stories through video. Then teacher shares voicethread with parents.

  8. Media Fluency Students look at communication media to interpret a message and how it is being used. Students have ability to create original digital products, using the most appropriate media for their message. • Lesson Plan: • Students help update a class blog weekly. They include what they have learned recently and write captions to pictures imported into the blog.

  9. Digital Citizen Guiding principles of leadership, ethics, accountability, fiscal responsibility, environmental awareness, global citizenship, and personal responsibility. Lesson Plan: Teach internet safety using Net Smartz Kidsvideo. Discuss importance of internet safety and create “I am computer safe” certificates for each student.
