Erasmus Mundus • Erasmus Mundus is a new programme of the European Commission • a co-operation and mobility programme in the field of higher education • aims to enhance quality in European higher education and to promote intercultural understanding through co-operation with third countries • Students coming from outside the EU can apply for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship • budget of 230 million euros, 90% of which go into scholarships • More information: ec.europa.eu/education/programmes/mundus/index_en.html

HSP Huygens Programme Some criteria: • Excellent results in all your previous studies • You must have already attended a programme of education in a country outside the Netherlands. • The Dutch study programme should be registered in CROHO • You should be in the final phase of your bachelor’s studies, or studying towards a master’s degree in the Netherlands • You must be no older than 35 years of age What do students get? • reimbursement of tuition fees or a contribution towards costs • monthly allowance of € 900 euros • visa fees (standard contribution) • a one-off payment towards international travel costs More information on www.nuffic.nl/hsp

Tempus • enables universities in a number of countries to establish partnerships in the European Union that help them restructure their higher education systems. • The programme allows universities to offer scholarships for student exchanges only within those partnerships. • Students should contact the university for information on the scholarship and existing partnerships or • Contact your National Tempus Office • Contact details: www.ec.europa.eu/tempus

Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) • Demand driven fellowship programmes • linked to the institutional development of organizations • Mid-career professionals, nominated by their employers • initiated and fully funded by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs • The Minstry has contracted Nuffic to administer NFP • Only for countries on NFP-country list (57 countries) The Netherlands Fellowship Programme Macedonia • Train Macedonian nationals in fields related to the processes of European integration • only candidates who intend to do a Masters degree in EU-related subjects • More information: www.sep.gov.mk

Libertas Support Fund • Aim: to assist politically engaged students who for political reasons have been prevented from studying in their countries of origin to continue their studies in the Netherlands. Study can include research and/or practical training. • Financed by Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science • No fixed number of available scholarships, but the actual number is determined by the total cost of the variable components of the scholarships • For 2008/2009: Zimbabwe and Belarus • Specific requirements of eligibility and more information on www.studyin.nl
