  5. Tactics and Strategies • Defense: Eye Contact, footwork, moving at angles, anticipation of plays • Offense: Passing, Dribbling • Spatial Awareness: Boundaries, Players (offense and defense). • Moving: Forward/Backward, Side-to-side, Diagonally

  6. Skills Needed to Perform Activity • Spatial awareness- boundaries, player positions, limit open space. • Guarding- shadowing, communication, force errors, surrounding area, use stick to limit space. • Tackling- reverse stick and forehand stick, appropriate jabs and swings, coordination. • Intercepting and anticipation- force, trajectory of ball, hand and eye coordination, manipulation of hockey stick.

  7. Rules that Apply • Players must stay within the boundaries • No physical or dangerous play- i.e.- no slashing, or high sticking. • Everyone must rotate between both offense and defense • Point system will be in effect with defense being the focus. • Penalty box will be used if inappropriate play is used. • Marking is allowed – but without unnecessary physical contact. • In some activities-everyone must touch the ball/puck before a point can be scored.
