  8. Narrative A personal narrative is a true story an author writes about his or her own experiences. It is written in first person and uses words like I, me, and my. It expresses the author's own feelings.

  9. Narrative A personal narrative may be about a big event like a trip or funny stories. Or they can be about everyday, ordinary events like walking to school on a spring day. All you have to do is think of a true story about yourself that others may enjoy hearing.

  12. Narrative You can use an idea starter or come with an idea of your own. You may even want to brainstorm a list of ideas like we did with our opinion paper. Now make a list of as many details as you can remember about the event. Remember the event and its sights, sounds and smells.
