Qualities of positive Christian living • Begins with knowing God. – John 17:3 • Begins with a denial of self – Matt. 16:24 • Means total commitment to Christ as Lord of my life – Luke 6:46 • Has the goal of growing into image of the risen Christ – Rom. 8:29 • Involves serving God in every situation – Rom. 12:2 • Believing that all things work together for good for the Christian – Rom 8:28 • Is possible through trusting God’s power – Eph. 3:20 • Letting our light shine – Matt. 5:16

  3. Qualities of positive Christian living • Is demonstrated in love for everyone – Matt. 5:44 • Involves being an active, productive member of the Body of Christ – 1 Cor. 12:12-28 cf. Eph. 4:11-13 • Centers in positive thinking – Prov. 23:7 • Depends upon God’s direction – Psa. 119:97 • Is shared with others – Mark 16:15-16 • This is living one step beyond spiritual thinking. It is a life-style.

  4. Rewards of Positive Christian living • Pleasing our heavenly Father - John 8:29 • Brings happiness and peace of mind – Matt. 5:1-8 • Helps defeat the adversary – James 4:7 • Helps produce the fruit of the Spirit – Gal.5:22-26 • Leads to the crown of life – Rev. 2:10

How to develop a positive Christian life • You must resolve in your heart that you want to live a positive Christian life. • You must develop a plan to daily renew your mind – Eph. 4:23 • You must daily meditate on God’s word – Psa. 119:97-105 • Set spiritual goals and work on them daily. • Pray for wisdom to know how to conduct your life – James 1:5 • Associate with those of like precious faith – I Cor. 15:33 • Do daily works of faith – James 2 • Don’t quit! – Finish the race.

  6. What we have to be positive about • Our God is alive • Our Saviour – Matthew 1:21 • The Bible – 2 Tim. 3:16-17 • Our Salvation – 1 John 5:13 • God’s Power – Eph. 3:20 • Our Reward – Rev. 2:10 • The Church – Matt. 16:13-18 • Our Hope – Rom. 8:24
