  12. The Transition March 2008 4 Dees installed in CMS Need to Shepherdour resources as the group’s Brownian motion diminishes What do we do? My personal opinion, particularly for the first (EE) LHC run : PPD – duty to show EE working as expected duty to show VPTs are stable (does not necessarily imply continuous calibration responsibility) People Dave, Ken, Claire, Bruce, RA1, RA2

  13. 2.5 years of LHC running Hardware PPD – responsibility for all things ‘VPT’ keep it all running during LHC on periods interventions/repairs/upgrades during short/long shutdowns - Special care/analysis at each substantial luminosity increase VPT leakage currents, stability, noise……. - Analysis of data – to check EE performance People Dave, Ken, Claire, Bruce, RA1, RA2 CMS run control Ken

  14. Is that all ????? Rumours that the Great Bear in the East is Stirring !! We may be confronted with all this much sooner than expected !
