  3. CLOTHING: • The ancient Egyptians wore light clothes made from linen. Linen is made from flax - a plant which was grown along the Nile. The picture below shows the flax growing process. Once harvested, the flax was soaked in water until soft. The soften flax was then separated into fibers which were beaten before being spun into thread which was then woven into cloth. RICH PEOPLE • Rich people, which are nobles helps to govern over some areas, once a noble, will always be a noble, so their children or family relative will become a noble too. • The houses of the richest people were stronger because they could afford to build their home from stone. • They are very different from the poor people, they have more stuff and more money. • The houses of the rich were often built around a central courtyard where flowers, fruit and vegetables were grown. • Some rich people's houses had bathrooms and indoor toilets The dresses worn by rich Egyptian women were made from fine transparent linen. Like the men, rich Egyptian women decorated their clothes and wore jewellery and headdresses. Rich Egyptian men were able to afford the best quality linen which was very fine and almost see-through. Rich Egyptian men also wore as much jewellery as they could afford and decorated their clothes. They also wore headdresses for special occasions.

  5. Poor People Poor people, most of them are peasants which are farmers and also servants who work for the pharaoh, they work for their families. The houses of the poorest people used one row of bricks while those that were not so poor used two or three rows. Although mud brick houses were relatively cheap to make, they were not very strong and began to crumble after a few years. • The farmhouse (right) has two floors. The upper floor is used for living space while the lower floor is used to store crops. A reed canopy has been made on the roof to provide shade.

  6. MAKE UPS! • Egyptian men and women wore make up. • They used black kohl eyeliner to line their eyes and darken their eye lashes and eye brows. They coloured their eye lids with blue or green eye shadow made from powdered minerals • Henna dye was used to colour their lips and nails.(another name for lipstick and nail colour) Men have been wearing makeup for a very long time, it started at ancient Egypt for your information!

  7. FURNITURE! STOOL • The Ancient Egyptians did not have much furniture. The most common item of furniture was a low stool. although many people, especially the poor sat on the floor • Rich people had beds and mattresses, while poorer people slept on a straw mattress or rug on the floor • The Ancient Egyptians did not have cupboards but stored things in reed baskets. Explain 3! -rich people can afford things much better than poor people. -rich people works as a noble, while poor people works as slaves and other low jobs. -rich people, has higher standards than poor people, they have their own indoor toilet, they eat on the table and sleep on beds and mattress, while poor people eat on the floor and sleep on the floor with rugs or either hay. -explain how the Egyptian make clothe! -They made it by using linen, after harvesting the plant they soak it in water and separate it, then beaten and woven into fabric. -where does the mud brick come from? -what is the most common furniture ? -It comes from muds, which were found after the innudation -A stool :3
