AFL strategies • Learning outcomes sheets are used to track pupil’s progress up to sublevels twice per half term to ensure that teacher knows where each pupil is with in their learning and what the next steps should be. • Pupils know their targets for a period of two weeks and take ownership of their learning. • Pupils do self /peer assessment at the start, at the middle and at the end of their lessons and record their progress on the learning outcomes sheets in different ways(either by ticking or using S,M,E). • Teacher assesses/marks pupils’ work using the learning outcomes and give pupils their next steps to progress further.

  5. Exemplar learning outcomes sheet after two weeks

  6. Measuring progress within a lesson using S –Start of lesson M –Middle of lesson E –End of lesson or simply by ticking the most appropriate box

  7. Pupils reflect on what has been learnt in a lesson. Teacher give pupils next step to learn and progress further.

  8. Pupils write what they have learnt and give a level to their completed work.
