  5. The approach…. • Paradigm shift from mopping the floor to turning off the tap • Children the reason of actions… • Modifiable risk factors and environments • Intervene where ROI is assured……

Multi-sector approach • Tobacco Control • Increase sin and import tax substantially • Ban advertisement and sale to minor and sale of single stick • Ban smoking in public place • Childhood obesity • Ban sale of sugary food/drinks at schools • Mandate PE hours in all school curriculum • Require organized sports opportunities throughout years, especially for youth • Tax incentive for local farmers vs Importers of outside food • 2-1-22 Project – (WHO & SPC (2) – Mission (1) – Country (22) • A Sub-regional project to reduce burden of NCD funded by AusAID and NZAID • Implement best buys at communities • Health education materials, counseling on diet on NCDs • Created environment for PA • Provided foot care • Measure HbA1c
