  7. is the collection of all the traces you leave in electronic environments as you use or move through them. Some is content you actively volunteer—like your Facebook profile. Survival kit Padlock • The padlock is to remind students to set strong passwords and to set up passcode locks on all of their digital devices.     Toothbrush • Tell students to think that passwords and toothbrushes are very similar in the fact that you NEVER want to share passwords. (except with parents) Permanent Marker • Everything that you put online is permanent....even if you hit the delete button after posting.  Odds are someone has re-tweeted, favorited,  or taken a screenshot of the material. Digital literacy According to the American Library Association Office for Information Technology Policy, digital literacy is: • The ability to use information and communication technologies to find, understand, evaluate, create, and communicate digital information, an ability that requires both cognitive and technical skills.

  16. Become an online sleuth • Adults are always evaluating what they see and hear. King3aper: Starcraft II is going to suck. It is going to be the same thing as Starcraft I with new graphics. You're all losers.(Here, King3aper, being the 'troll', is purposely provoking an angry or negative response from offended Starcraftfans.
