Digital citizenship is an idea which enables teachers and parents to understand what students, young children and general technology users to know how to use the new technology in an appropriate responsible way. This idea is gaining pace around the world. Leaders of technology have come up with nine parts of digital citizenship. Digital citizenship

  3. Technology users need to be aware that not everyone has the same opportunities when it comes to technology. We need to aim towards equal digital rights. By helping others to provide and expand access to technology should be the goal of all digital citizens worldwide. Technology users should be aware that some countries still have limited availability to the Internet, so alternative measures need to be provided. We all need to be responsible citizens to make sure no one is denied digital access. Digital Access

  4. Users need to know that a large share of business is done electronically these days. Legal issues have to be addressed and resolved and the buyer and seller need to know their rights. People need to be aware of what is legal and illegal when downloading information. Digital Business of electronic goods, buying and selling

  5. The method of communication has greatly changed since the 19th century. Email, mobile phones, instant messaging etc. The rapidly expanding digital communications mean that people can keep in touch with people at all times. Sadly, not everyone has been given the chance to be taught how to deal with all the variations digital communications available. Digital Communication

  6. Have to be created to deal with technology within a society. The society has to accept the need to understand that identity theft or property on line is a serious crime. Anyone playing games on line have to be aware that hacking the information of others, downloading of illegal music or plagiarizing is a serious offence and anyone creating viruses or sending spam is unethical. Digital laws

  7. The process of digital literacy requires teaching and learning appropriate use of new technology. Whilst education plays an enormous part in this area of technology there is still a lot to be done. Video conferencing needs to be introduced into schools and information technology needs to be continually updated and people need to be taught quickly. Digital communication can help educate people in new exciting ways. Digital literacy

  8. This is probably one of the most important areas for digital citizenship. People understand inappropriate behavior when it is in their everyday lives, but people are uncomfortable with it when it is dealing with digital technology. Everyone has to become more responsible. Digital Etiquette

  10. Every digital citizen has a right to privacy, free speech and these basic rights must be looked at, talked about and understood. With this ,responsibility plays a major part. The new technology has to be used in an appropriate way and all areas have to work together to achieve. Digital rights and responsibilities these freedoms are extended to everyone in the digital world.

  11. Eye safety, repetitive strain injury, and stress syndrome and sitting correctly are essential in offices around the world. People need to understand that there are dangers on the internet and users must be taught to understand a need to protect themselves by having education and training for this digital health and wellness.

  12. In every society around the world there are always people who steal, disrupt and deface. This is the same for digital communities. We cannot trust people in our communities and we must look to ourselves for safety. It is essential to have digital security, virus protection and backup of data and control of our computers. We must protect our information from outside forces that want to cause harm and disruption in our everyday lives digital security self protection
