Summary of Chlamydia and Gonorrhea Among Adolescents and Young Adults, Minnesota, 2006 • Adolescents and young adults accounted for 69% of chlamydia and 56% of gonorrhea cases diagnosed in Minnesota. • 75% of chalmydia or gonorrhea cases diagnosed among adolescents and young adults were females. • Rates of chlamydia infection among males and females increased by 5% and 2%, respectively. • Rates of gonorrhea infection among males increased by 4% and among females, rates decreased by 0.8%. • Whites and blacks accounted for 40% and 32% of chlamydia or gonorrhea cases, respectively. • 39% of gonorrhea or chlamydia cases were in the Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
