  1.  BIOS/EEPROM

  2. BIOS BIOS stands for basic input/output system. This is the computer software that is usedto check the conditionof your computer’s hardware and lets the the operating systemstart. It also investigates and manages all files and links.When BIOS starts up your computer, it finds out whether all files and links are in the right position and so that the computer canwork efficiently.

  3. BIOS When you open your computer or PC, BIOS will run a POST test to make sure that every device such as hard drive are in the right position that that they are workingefficiently. If your computer passes the test which means that your computer does not have anyproblem, itwill then run theoperating system.

  4. How do you access the BIOS settings on your PC? You need to turn on your computer and press the button on your keyboard before BIOS leads you to the operating system. You have a limitedtime of only a few seconds to access the BIOS.When you start your computer, you must read carefully in order to access the information on the screen which appears first. You have to searchfor a message that showwhich button you have to press in order to accessBIOS. --Function button • --Esc button • --Delete button

  5. EEPROM EEPROM (electrically erasable programmable read-only memory)is one type of ROM (read-only memory) which you can only read and are not be able to edit the information. When it needs to be erased and reprogrammed, it will have to reprogram entirely, not just some part. It usually reprogrammed while computer is being used. It also has limited life and numbers of time that can be reprogrammed.

  6. Where is the hardware configuration information stored? For window Type "dxdia” in search box of window and you will see hardware configuration information. Another way to check is by right-click on computer icon and choose “manage”, then choose “device manager”on the left side and you will see the information of the hardware devices. For apple Click on the apple icon on the top left cornerof the screen and choose about this mac. After it opens, you have to click on system report and you will see the information.
