  3. Size of UW Campuses • UW Colleges Campus size: 500 to 2,000 students UW Colleges enroll totally over 12,600 students • Comprehensives 2,900 to over 42,000 students Majors offered: • Smallest campus: 30 • Largest campus: 160

  4. Admission to UW Campuses • College preparatory coursework taken in high school • High school rank in class • Grade point average • Standardized test results • Other pertinent academic information • Student experiences, work experiences, leadership qualities, motivation, community service, special talents and /or other factors may also be considered

  5. Making the Grade Academic factors remain the most important consideration in making admissions decisions. UW campuses review each applicant comprehensively to determine admission and likelihood of success at their campus. (See “Introduction to the UW-System” for individual campus guidelines and specific information)

College Prep Electives Electives may be chosen from the core areas (English, mathematics, natural science and social science), fine arts, computer science, foreign language and other academic areas. UW-Eau ClaireandUW-Madisonrequire a minimum two years of a single foreign language for admission.

  8. Testing • All UW System campuses require receipt of ACT or SAT scores prior to making an admit decision. • The ACT is preferred by most UW System campuses. All campuses will accept either ACT or SAT. • Recommend students take the ACT or SAT in the spring of their junior year. • Minimum score guidelines vary at each campus.

  9. Additional Testing Detail • UW-Madison requires written portion of the ACT. • UW-Green Bay, UW-Madison & UW-LaCrosse require official score report directly from ACT for admit decision. • UW-Oshkosh & UW-Platteville require official score report prior to advising/registration. http://uwhelp.wisconsin.edu/testing/index.aspx

  10. Applying for Admission • Electronic application preferred over paper apply.wisconsin.edu • Begin applying September 15 for the following fall semester. • All campuses have application priority dates or deadlines (some are program specific). Avoid late applications!
