  1. The Story Almost one year ago (2010), I started collecting random images from my books, naming this collection “Gallery of Icons” - GoI. First step was putting a post-it on the books’ selected pages, second cutting and scanning them, third printing images on T-shirts. First GoI T-shirt was a tribute to Coco, since in the collection each Icon is reported just with the name. Anyway, that time I didn’t know yet what I was effectually doing but I received an unexpected and lucky help.

  2. An unexpected help Abraham Moritz “Aby” Warburg (1866-1929), was one of the most important art historian of ever. Born from a wealthy family of German jewish bankers (the private bank still exists now in Hamburg) the young Abysnobbed the family business turning his attention to the study of art. His work varied from symbology in Italian Renaissance painters as Botticelli or Ghirlandaio to ritual and cult of native American.

  4. “Mnemosyne – The Atlas of Images” The occasion of “meeting” him was the announcement of “Mnemosyne – The Atlas of Images” at the MuseoNacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid (2011), a deserved tribute to his huge collection of pictures gathered in order to set up a definitive encyclopaedia of icons of all times (some 22.000 images). When Aby Warburg died, his masterpiece was still considered as unfinished

  6. “Now I see” Thanks Aby I did realize finally what my “Gallery of Icons” stands for. A restricted selection of my personal icons of ever. Less than 50 images (nothing compared to Aby’s thousand ones) as an extreme and condensed synthesis of Icons, most of them belonging to XXth Century in five categories (till now): Fashion, Art, Design & Architecture, History and Music.

  7. What is it Gallery of Icons? GoI is a storyteller, other than a witness of a not long time ago. GoI pounds a lot. GoI is permanently allegorical and most of cases based on a autobiographical point of view. GoI aims to be trend setting and the gallery itself is a part of a wider project named “Make Your Very Own Fashion!”. GoI is an heritage to future generation (read nowadays generation). GoI isfinally a suggestion - to anybody interested – to do so.
