  2. Yerevan is the capital and largest city of Armenia and one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities. Situated along the Hrazdan River, Yerevan is the administrative, cultural, and industrial center of the country. It has been the capital since 1918, the thirteenth in the history of Armenia, and the seventh located in or around the Ararat plain. Yerevan was named the 2012 World Book Capital by UNESCO. Yerevan is an associate member of Eurocities

  3. The Great Cascade reminding a huge multi-tier Babylon pyramid is a system of huge staircases connecting the downtown and the residential area located high in mountains. All together it looks like an enormous spectacular modernist sculpture. Huge stair wells with fountains run uphill crowned with the obelisk of the Revived Armenia.

  4. Charles Aznavour Museum includes an open-air concert hall, as well as Aznavour`s apartment.

  5. The exhibition includes Aznavour's discs, albums, books, music awards, posters and photographs.The museum project began in 2007, by the Armenian government. Aznavour’s foundation decorated the interior of the museum

The Karabakh war, the city blockade and other events interfered… Huge stair wells with fountains run uphill crowned with the obelisk of the Revived Armenia.

  22. The Cafesjian Center for the Arts (also known as the Cafesjian Museum Foundation) is situated in the area in and around the Cascade. At the core of the museum's permanent collection is the Gerard L. Cafesjian Collection of Art. The inauguration took place on 17 November 2009. The Cafesjian Center for the Arts is dedicated to bringing the best of contemporary art to Armenia and presenting the best of Armenian culture to the world. Inspired by the vision of its founder, Gerard L. Cafesjian, the Center offers a wide variety of exhibitions, derived from the Gerard L. Cafesjian Collection of contemporary art. The project was designed by the New York based architecture firm David Hotson Architects.

  26. For Armenians the pomegranate is one of the most recognizable symbols of the country. In Armenian mythology it symbolizes fertility and good fortune. It was a guardian against the evil eye. At weddings in Western Armenia, a bride would throw a pomegranate and break it into pieces. Its scattered seeds ensured that the bride would bear children.

  29. At the top of the Cascade steps rests the towering monument to Soviet victory in WW2. Directly adjacent is the large construction site of the Cafesjian Museum, which houses a large collection of contemporary art, including perhaps one of the best glass art collection in the world. Beyond the monument is Victory Park, and the district around it is known as Monument as well
