Ecological Map • An ecological map is broken down into five systems; The Microsystem,The Mesosytsem, The Macrosystem, The Exosystem and The Chronosystem, which was developed by Urie Bronfenbrenner • The theory uses many different types of relationships and environments of a person helping explain their development.

  3. The individual (Bob)… • 16 year old male • Parents are divorced • Living in a rural and isolated area • Only Child • Working Class Family

  4. The Microsystem…. The Microsystem includes activities and interactions in the child's immediate surroundings.

  5. The Microsystem… • The Microsystem • Separated Parents (influences from mum & dad) • Teachers • Education • White Australian • Catholic

  6. The Mesosytsem… The mesosytsem is the connection for the structures of the Microsystem. The environment of a child links with the child’s immediate surroundings

  8. The Exosystem… The exosystem supports both formal and informal environments, however this structure has an impact on the child’s development within other systems.

  10. The Macrosystem… The macrosystem is the outer most layer within a child’s development. It has a variety of influences.
