  1. MARK 10:46-52

  2. After celebrating the Resurrection, what next? • How does the resurrection affect me as a person? • Is it time to be thinking of change? • What is that I must do to bring change? • Today’s lesson is from a blind man.

  3. What rules your life? • Your attitudes, your habits, language, priorities? • Is it God or ………. • Bartimaeus wanted a change. • He wanted to see. • He was tired of not seeing.

  4. To change you must first have a desire to change. • We can buy CD, VCD’s , books etc on spiritual matters, but until you really desire to change, you will never see the power of God released in your life.

  5. Jesus was leaving Jericho. • It was now or never for Bartimaeus. • He could have thought ….. • a. “ I will catch Him the next time He comes to town.” • b. “ He is too busy to help me now.” • c. “ The crowd is too large.”

  6. Sometimes we wait for all the right circumstances before wanting to attempt change. • Sometimes we wait for people to change before we will change. • 2 Cor. 6:2 – “Time of favor.”

  7. Procrastination is a weapon of Satan. • He loves us when we listen to him. • Stop waiting and start seeking God’s change for your life.

  8. Bartimaeus’ opportunity for change was upon him. • But others told him it was not. • He refused to listen. • They kept telling him. But he cried all the more.

  9. We are fearful of what others will say or do. • And so we do not change. • By so doing, we miss God’s opportunity to be touched by Him. • We can conform or let God transform and change us.

  10. Bartimaeus went for transformation. • Note the crowd • v.48 – “They warned him.” • v. 49 – “They cheered him.”

  11. Bartimaeus could have reacted by: • a. Thinking – “ I wish someone can help me.” • b. Arguing – “ If only less people were here.” > God was walking by and he was not about to miss his opportunity.

  12. No one can initiate change in your life – only you can. • The power to change does not come from ourselves but with God.

  13. Richard De Haan (Radio Bible Class) once said this: • “ I was trying to get my video player to work for a church group, but it could not. Someone saw my plight. He just came up and plugged the power cord into the socket. I forgot the power.” • Do not over look the obvious.

  14. Six frogs were sitting on a lily pod. • Four frogs decided to jump. • How many were left?

  15. Six. • The four decided to jump but did not jump. • Deciding to change is not enough. • You must believe, cry out and jump.
