New Arrivals Whole School Planning Objectives: To raise awareness of the National Strategy: New Arrivals Excellence Programme To provide an update on new arrivals in local schools To consider a range of strategies for supporting new arrivals in schools To explore roles and responsibilities of all staff in supporting new arrivals

India and China, for example, are on the ascendant; and businesses are going global. The European Union has enlarged from 15 states in 1997 to 27 in 2007, creating an immense social market in which people move freely in and out of the UK.
