  1. Logging onto digits “Realize” • Open a browser (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer) and type portal.graniteschools.org • Log into the portal • Username: Student ID (ex: 9876543) • Password: same as all district passwords • Click “Core Applications” at the bottom of the page • Find the digits icon and click it

  2. Some of you might see this… • If you see this then do this… • Username: Student ID@graniteschools.org • (ex: 9876543@graniteschools.org) • Password: same as all district passwords

  3. Once you are on for your textbook, look for this on the right of your screen… • Click on “Pearson realize”

  4. Make sure English is selected and then scroll down.

  5. Pick a profile icon and a background picture.

  6. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Let’s go!”

  7. Explore the home page once you have made your selections. This is the textbook. It is used by the teacher for the lesson. Visit here if you were absent and need to make up notes. This is where homework assignments are located. Due dates here match the end of the quarter, not actual due dates for the homework assignment. Once a homework assignment has been worked on, it will move to this section.

  8. In the “Classes” section, the homework assignments appear in three categories. If a student begins an assignment, but does not finish it, they may continue the assignment under the “In progress” tab. Click on the name of the assignment of the picture to the side to begin.

  9. The next screen is informational, to continue to the assignment, click again. Click on the name of the assignment of the picture to the side to begin.

  10. Click “Start” to begin, or EXIT to come back to the assignment at a later time.

  11. At the top right, tools for solving problems may be accessed by clicking “Question Help”. At the top left, the question appears and students may enter their responses. The bottom of the screen shows the number of problems assigned, the navigation buttons and the “Check Answer” button. It will activate when a student has typed in a response to the question.

  12. Occasionally a student may need to insert a fraction, exponent or special character. Once the student clicks in the box to type in an answer, the following options appear at the bottom of the page. (Fraction, mixed number, exponent, absolute value, square root, radical, subtext, ordered pair, etc.) Sometimes tools such as the “Math Tools” button cause the popup blocker in your browser to prevent the page from opening. You may need to adjust your settings.

  13. Take some time to explore the various tools in the “Math Tools” section.

  14. When a student has come to the last question of the assignment, a screen appears showing the status of each question. At the bottom of the page the “Submit my work” button appears. Click this button to turn the assignment in to the teacher.
