  2. Why? James 5:16 – “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” How? Matthew 6:9-13 – “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Who? 1 Timothy 2:1,2 – “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. When? SYATP, 30 K kneel down, daily prayer time, prayer zone partners

  3. Campus Prayer Strategies • Here are some effective prayer strategies to use. Don’t limit yourself to just one strategy. Incorporate as many as you can. • Private Prayer: Devote some time each day to pray for your school and your unsaved friends. • Student Prayer Partner: Join with another campus missionary or Christian Friend who will pray with you for your school and your unsaved friends on your prayer list. • Adult Prayer Partner: Ask a Christian adult at your church to become your prayer partner for your school. • Prayer Walk: Do an occasional prayer walk around your school. (Keep your eyes open!) • Classroom Praying: Choose a desk or chair that is not on the side, back or front rows. During class pray a quick silent prayer for each of the students around you. • Yearbook Praying: Use the yearbook to systematically pray for the students of your school. This puts a name and a face to your prayers.

  6. As a Campus Missionary I will… Place yourself in one of the following situations – let’s discuss what you would be feeling. • Your teacher announces a quiz before you leave class on Thursday. You come in on Friday to find out it’s a final exam for majority of grade. -You see a leader in the church participating in the very things that he/she preaches against.

  7. Be Like Jesus 1 Peter 2:12 – Live such good lives among pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. Matthew 25:35-40 – “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. Then the righteous will answer him, Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you? The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 4:4 – Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

  8. As a Campus Missionary I will… • Let’s break everyone into three groups: • Fire and Brimstone • Too many church terms • Very timid and afraid • So what is true success????

  9. Mark 16:15 – “He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.’” 1 Peter 3:15 – “But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,…

  10. Be ready: • 1. What questions will people ask? • Who is Jesus? • Why did He give His life? • What else? • 2. How will you answer? • Their story, your story, His story • Bridge Card • 3. Who will you tell? • Five Friend Focus

  11. As a Campus Missionary I will… Name someone in the world who is the greatest at what they do? What made that person the greatest?

  12. Matthew 20:26-28 – “…whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave – just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” Hebrews 10:24-25 – “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

  13. As a Campus Missionary I will… What is the greatest gift you have ever received for a birthday or for Christmas? What is the greatest gift you have ever given? Which one gave you the better feeling?

  14. Acts 20:35 – “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive. 2 Corinthians 9:6,7 – “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
