  1. Levi’s Jeans By: Sara H.

  2. Levi Strauss the inventor of Levi’s jeans did not mean to become the biggest and most successful blue jeans manufacturer in the world. Levi Strauss went to Austin, Texas hoping to sell clay pots. When he spoke with his customers they told him, “Should of brought pants.” “They don't last long here.” So the next day Levi went home and sewed up a few pairs of pants with an old denim jacket he didn’t wear anymore. People started to buy the pants. The word slowly spread. Soon people started calling them “those pants” or “Levi’s Jeans.” He changed up the pants by making a variety of different styles by using other materials he bought . Levi’s Jeans are still worn all around the world today. Story #1

  3. Story #2 The invention of men's jeans was not an accident. Levi Strauss’s success at making blue jeans was no accident either. Levi did not hope to become the biggest and most successful inventor of blue jeans in the world. He did not even think of manufacturing blue jeans. He went to San Francisco wanting to sell dry goods. The California Gold rush in 1849 had attracted thousands of consumers. Levi planned to sell canvas for tents and wagon covers. But as Levi talked to his customersthey told him that he should of brought some pants . He sent them to a tailor to make some pants from the brown canvas . The word quickly spread of the new jeans. He started making some new pairs of pants out of denim. He started putting extra pockets to hold large chunks of gold. Levis Jeans are still worn all over the world today.
