  5. C STANDS FOR CONSEQUENCE • WHAT HAPPENS AFTERWARDS AS A RESULT OF THE BEHAVIOR TO THE INDIVIDUAL OR TO OTHERS. • THE BOY WAS IGNORED BY HIS MOTHER. OTHER PEOPLE BEGAN TO FOCUS THEIR ATTENTION ON THE BOY.

CONSEQUENCES • EVERY BEHAVIOR HAS AN ANTECEDENT(S) AND HAS A CONSEQUENCE(S). • OFTEN ELIMINATING THE ANTECEDENT CAN ELIMINATE THE BEHAVIOR, OR A NEW BEHAVIOR CAN BE TAUGHT TO DEAL WITH THE ANTECEDENT. • CONSEQUENCES CAN HELP TO SHAPE THE BEHAVIOR ( + OR -REINFORCMENTS). NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES CAN LEAD TO A CHANGE IN BEHAVIOR. • CONSEQUENCES CAN ALSO BE OVERT AND COVERT (VISIBLE AND INVISIBLE)
