  1. STSE-GOCE+ Height System Unification Final Meeting, 19-20 FEB 2013, ESTEC Noordwijk, The Netherlands Daniel Roman (NGS/GRAV-D P.I.) Consultant Xiaopeng Li (DST) & Simon Holmes (SGT)

  2. Usage of GOCE data • Gravimetric Geoid and GRAV-D • Long Wavelengths of gravity field • Enhances satellite only solution • Better overlap with aerogravity • Normalizes aerogravity • Combined air/satellite data assess surface data • Model of systematic errors in NAVD 88 • Previously 600 km resolution (GRACE only) • This should better reduce residuals in hybrid geoid

  3. GRAV-D Collection (20140211) EN06 Map Key - Airborne Gravity Data Green: Available data and metadataBlue: Data being processedOrange: Data collection underwayWhite: Planned for data collection

  4. Uncorrected/Level 1 GRAV-D

  5. Biases w.r.t. EGM2008/GOCE

  6. Biases Removed • Still at collection altitude (6.7 km) • Downward Cont. problems (ringing) • Merging with satellite models

  7. More Tapering tests of the data are probably needed to reduce the rings

  8. DC w/ broader filter & trim

  9. Compare with surface data

  10. GGM02S (GRACE)/GPS vs. NAVD 88Residual = hGPS – NGGM02S – HNAVD 88 Residual = hGNSS – NGOCE – HNAVD 88- eH
