NPFS So far 790 farmers directly benefited from different modules such as Livestock, Crops, Water Control, Agro- Processing, Agro-Forestry, Fisheries and Health and Nutrition compound while about 3,950 benefited indirectly. COMMERCIAL AGRICULTURE Disbursed the Following Inputs to 111 CIGs (104 for Maize, 4 for Dairy & 3 for Fruit) • DAIRY VALUE CHAIN • Cotton seed cake = 5,095 bags • Wheat offal's = 157 bags • Drugs = 87 Litres • Salt lick = 362 blocks • MAIZE VALUE CHAIN • Fertilizer = 51,291 bags (NPK) • 11,774 bags (UREA) • Improved deeds = 114.6 tonnes • Agro-chemicals = 78,994 litres • Workbulls = 896 Nos • Threshing machine = 189 Nos • FRUIT VALUE CHAIN • Mango = 1155 seedlings • Citrus = 525 seedlings • Guava = 2730 seedlings • Oil Palm = 800 seedlings • Banana = 3,100 suckers • Plantain = 3,045 suckers • Paw-paw = 8,525 seedlings

FERTILIZER VOUCHER SYSTEM (GES) FRUIT VALUE CHAIN Fertilizer (NPK) = 2042 bags/486 bags Worm force = 1648 litres Insecticide = 1628 litres Fungicide = 401 litres Herbicide = 700 litres Agro-chemicals = 4,383 litres Assorted fertilizers Number of beneficiaries = 120,686 Number of bags received = 241,372 bags (12,068.6MT) 3. Cassava cuttings = 13,000 bundles (Not all was distributed as a result of late arrival and lack of label) Maize seeds = 271.0 MT Rice seeds = 204.85 MT Sorghum seeds = 0.20 MT

  9. INPUT SITUATION 5. FERTILIZER - See GES above 6.SEED Kaduna State ADP provided a good /quality seeds at a subsidize rate of about 40% to the farmers in order to boost their production. About 7,425 farmers benefited from the 68,938 kg of assorted seed distributed. Maize = 22.980 MT Rice = 14.436 MT Cowpew = 5.745 MT Sorghum = 17.235 MT Soyabeans = 8.542 MT 7. AGROCHEMICALS Herbicides = 24,560 Litres Insecticides = 12,900 Litres Fungicides = 10,750 kgs Beneficiaries = 5,679 farmers 8. MNRDP The 1st phase has been completed ad the 2nd phase is expected to commence in 2013 as it has been approved by Federal Government of Nigeria. The adoption rate of NERICA-8 (FARO 59) from field observations revelation, is very high as it ranges between 70% and 80% and farmers reasons for adopting it includes earliness (80 – 85 days duration), high yield (about 5 tons/ha), high milling rate (about 60%, its grain appeal (medium length and whiteness) and nice palatability. 9. FADAMA III, COMPONENT IV The component continued to operate at a snail speed due to lack of clear understanding of its mode of operation nation wide.

COMMERCIAL AGRICULTURE DAIRY VALUE CHAIN Tsetse fly control in the 4 grazing reserves To promote Cattle breed improvement through artificial insemination To promote use of supplementary feeds and medication for improved animal health care MAIZE VALUE CHAIN Promotion of aflasafe inoculums for production of aflasafe maize grains Promotion of use of QPM hybrid (Oba 98) given an average yield of 4 tonnes/ha Promotion of use of threshing machines for on-farm processing Promotion of Sasakawa technologies such as correct spacing, improved seeds, fertilizer application

FERTILIZER VOUCHER SYSTEM (GES) FRUIT VALUE CHAIN Replacement of old Orchards with high quality and high yielding varieties of Mango, Citrus and Guava Promote the use of additions, NAFDAC approved agrochemicals for healthy crop growth and better quality fruiting RURAL INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT 1. Construction/Rehabilitation of 10Nos rural access road measuring 56km DIAGNOSTIC SURVEYS TO BE CONDUCTED IN 2013 To increase the inputs figures as follows: Seed - 150% Assorted fertilizer - 50%

SEED The seed quantity should be increased to at least 80,000 kg for next year, because farmers are now aware of our selected/high yield quality seed. 7. AGROCHEMICALS Herbicides = 50,000 Litres Insecticides = 35,000 Litres Fungicides = 25,000 kgs Beneficiaries = 10,500 farmers 6. MNRDP Can not be determined as the second phase is yet to take off. 9.
