  3. Geography • Has one of the Largest Rain forests in the world-Verunga National Park • Home to the Okapi • MOUNTAIN GORILLA’s • Lots of Tropical Savannas and Grasslands • Lions, Leopards, Antelope. Zebra, etc!

Mountain Gorilla’s • There are about 750 Mountain Gorillas left on Earth-1/2 are in DRC • Weigh up to 425 pounds • As tall as 6 feet! • Live up to 50 years • Vegetarian-the plants supply enough moisture that they almost never need water! • Eat up to 50 pounds! • Males are called Silver Backs • Live in “Families” of up to 30!

  6. What The DRC Has! MAJOR RESOURCES WHY IT IS HARD TO GET THEM Most resources are in the middle of rain forests and hard to reach spots!   7. THE PEOPLE Many different groups of people has led to many different opinions! This has caused a lot of war! • 56 Million PEOPLE! • 200 Different Ethnic Groups! • Official language is French but over 700 local languages are spoken! • Average person earns $300-$600 a year! • A lot of unemployment
