  2. Bloedcelvorming met lymfocyten stamcel B-cel T-cel lymfocyten rode bloedcel basofiel eosinofiel neutrofiel trombocyt monocyt witte bloedcellen plasmacel

Naamgeving witte bloedcellen(leukocyten: leukos = wit; cyt = cel) De witte bloedcellen worden onderverdeeld in verschillende soorten: • granulocyten (ook wel neutrofielen genoemd) • lymfocyten • monocyten • eosinofielen • basofielen Bij prolymfocytenleukemie (PLL) is er een toename van de lymfocyten

  5. ProlymfocytenleukemieKenmerken • Woekering van afwijkende lymfatische cellen (rijpe B- of T-lymfocyten) • Vooral in bloed, beenmerg en milt • Moeilijker te behandelen dan andere vormen van chronische lymfatische leukemie

  9. Onderzoek bij verdenking op PLL • Beenmergonderzoek • Flowcytometrie op bloed- of beenmergcellen • Cytogenetisch onderzoek

  10. ProlymfocytenleukemieSamenvattend • Zeer zeldzame variant van chronische lymfatische leukemie • Bij presentatie vaak hoog aantal witte bloedcellen en miltvergroting • Moet altijd behandeld worden • Behandeling meestal met chemotherapie en/of antistoftherapie • Prognose moeilijk te voorspellen
