  7. Strategic Vision The Partnership for a Green City envisions Louisville as an innovative national leader for economic sustainability and environmental quality. As members, the Jefferson County Public Schools, Jefferson Community & Technical College, Louisville Government and the University of Louisville make a long-term commitment to lead by example, educate, engage and collaborate with the community.

Alternative Transportation Transportation opportunities Increase public transportation Increase bicycling & walking Increase carpool, school pool or van pool Promote not idling more than 10 seconds Anti-idling policies at partners(An hour of idling time in a 4-cylinder vehicle uses more than a gallon of gasoline and more than 4 gallons in an 8-cylinder vehicle. In a diesel vehicle, idling for an hour consumes approximately a gallon of fuel.)
