What we had to do ? • Report to the group and the RA on the sharing capabilities. • Produce draft UK contributions for CEPT sharing study. • Develop a strategy on how to promote the findings of the sharing. • Identify bottlenecks and propose resolutions • Advise the WAG regulatory on the IR2007

Radar • A statement from the MoD clearly indicates the requirements to access the band • Mandatory TPC • Mandatory DFS • -67 dBm for devices with EIRP greater than 1W • -64 dBm for devices from 200mW to 1W EIRP • -62 dBm for devices with EIRP less than 200mW • Exclusion zones • A TPC range of at least 19dB shall be used, relative to the maximum EIRP allowed for a FWA station. Stations with a maximum EIRP capability that is lower than the maximum EIRP allowed limit can reduce the TPC range accordingly.

  6. Fixed Satellite services • The band 5725MHz to 5850MHz • Sharing is possible for an EIRP of 2W within a 20MHz channel and PSD/EIRP limits as a function of direction. • The band 5850MHz to 5875MHz • Sharing is less favourable and extra constrains must be applied.

  7. Electronic New Gathering / Outside Broadcasting • a risk of interference to all types of ENG/OB links however sharing is generally feasible. • Possible use of exclusion zones for specific channels • DCS • Other co-ordination techniques • Add constrains on ENG/OB deployments

  8. Road Transport and Traffic Telematics • sharing is feasible • However FWA equipment can not operate in the immediate vicinity of the RTTT equipment on frequencies allocated to RTTT (i.e. 5795MHz…5815MHz • Exclusion Zone • Band exclusion • More coordination • DCS

  9. Short Range Devices • The SRDs are operating on a non interference non protected basis.

  10. Impact on the IR/VNS • Mandatory DFS • Mandatory TPC • DCS not required as other mitigation factors are available • Frequency plan, not required but could be helpful. • Maximum Power spectral density / power
