Third Workshopon Maritime Affairs in the Adriatic Ionian Macro –Region Situation: ICZM in Slovenia, • CAMP Slovenia was implemented (2004-2007); • Partners: MAP, national (MESP), regional/local; • Process: integration, participation • Results: priority areas, programmes, projects • Integrated into RDP South Primorska 2007-2013 Weaknesses/Shortcomings • Ownership of the process; Governance structure; • Spatial planning – delays, weak integration of SD principles&concepts;

Third Workshopon Maritime Affairs in the Adriatic Ionian Macro –Region • Current situation: Marine Spatial Planning: • Slovenia has not adopted “MSP”; • Reasons: • Limited marine area; • Marine uses already defined and harmonised outside MSP framework; • National Programme on Maritime affairs development; • Weaknesses/Shortcomings: • Lack of CB cooperation in MSP Triest bay;

Third Workshopon Maritime Affairs in the Adriatic Ionian Macro –Region • Projects: • IPA Adriatic SHAPE project • ICZM, implementation of the Protocol; • MSP: create methodology, test MSP at local scale; • GIS: define, design and implement GIS atlas for basin scale and detailed on regional level;

Third Workshopon Maritime Affairs in the Adriatic Ionian Macro –Region • Potential projects: • Support ICZM in the Adriatic-Ionic area • Platform of practitioners; • ICZM in practice (support local initiatives), • Spatial planning; establishment of set-back zones; • CB Marine spatial plan for the Triest bay
