  3. DoxologyPraise God, from whom all blessings flow;Praise Him, all creatures here below;Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.—Amen.

  5. Proverbs Chapter 12Contrasts between the righteous and wicked in thoughts, speech and actions.

  6. Section 1, vs. 1-14Sub Unit 2, vs. 4-14Vs. 7-8,The Contrast of consequences for our words and actions.

  7. Prov 12:7

  8. Prov 12:7“As plans (v. 5) give rise to words (v. 6; 16:27), words give rise to destinies (v. 7).” (Waltke, NIC)

  9. “The wicked are overthrown”This believer has been changed, drained, perverted, or converted from the righteousness they once operated under. Evil and sin has taken over the soul.

  10. Prov 17:20,“He who has a crooked mind finds no good, and he who is perverted in his language falls into evil.”

  11. “Are no more”In context this is a metaphor for God’s judgment, cf. Gen 19:21, 25, 29; Jer 20:16; Amos 4:11; Lam 4:6. 3rd Stage of Divine Discipline, SUD.

  12. The Contrast!

  13. The Contrast! The blessing:“The house of the righteous will stand.”

  14. This is blessing by association to the current and future generations of the righteous believer, (the one walking consistently in their experiential sanctification.)

  15. This house is built on a solid foundation, Christ and His Word, Prov 10:25, 30; 12:3, 12; cf. Mat 7:24-27, and it will withstand any trial, tribulation or disaster.

  16. Prov 12:8

  17. Prov 12:8The believer who has insight, (practical application of Bible Doctrine), will be praised.

  18. This insight is a gift from God, 1 Chron 22:12, and it gives you patience, cf Prov 19:11.

  19. Prov 19:11,“A man’s discretion makes him slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook a transgression.”

  20. Only fools despise this kind of intelligence. Prov 23:9, “Do not speak in the hearing of a fool, for he will despise the wisdom of your words.”

  21. “Will be praised”, HALAL, “to flash forth light, to shine, to boast or praise.”

  22. What the wicked desire most due to their arrogance the righteous will actually receive as a result of their humility.

  23. Prov 27:2,“Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.”Cf. Prov 31:30-31

  24. The Contrast!

  25. The Contrast! The discipline.“The perverse minded will be despised.”

  26. “Perverse mind”, AWAH.They have sin and evil resident in their soul with built up scar tissue, being led by their sin nature, feelings and emotions.

  27. “Will be despised”, HAYAH LE BUZ, Reproachful disdain for something vile or dishonorable; bitter scorn, or the state of being despised or dishonored; disgrace.

  28. “A wise person rescues his city without the city being thankful to him (Eccl. 9:15), and apostates praise the wicked (Prov. 28:4).” (Waltke, NIC)

  29. You can not judge your spiritual walk by the feedback the world gives to you, but by the feedback the righteous of this world gives to you.

  30. And by knowing God’s opinion of your thoughts, words, and deeds, as you stand confidently in His Word.

  31. Upon our Lord’s return, He will certainly commend the wise, Mat 5:11-12; Luke 12:42-44; 1 Cor 3:10-15; 2 Cor 10:18.
