Charge to the Review Committee The purpose of this technical review is to provide the GONG Program with an expert critique of the design, functionality, and performance of the GONG Ha Prototype System. • Have we demonstrated that the Ha Instrument and Data Acquisition System meet the observational requirements to serve as a backup system for AFWA’s ISOON Space Weather Network? • Is the design reasonable or are there areas that could be improved or simplified? • Are there elements of the design that might be prone to failure in a 5+ year operation? • Are there areas that should receive special attention when testing the production systems? ***** We would like the committee to prepare a brief written report, which should address our concerns noted above, as well as any issues that may come up during the review or during the committee’s meeting. Although not the focus of this review, if there is relevant feedback regarding the Software Status presentations, it should also be included.
