The Importance of Student Learning Outcomes • SLOs provide students with focus and awareness of their own learning • (they really do want to know why they have to learn this ‘stuff’) • Can and should provide faculty with a framework for course design as well are redesign • Allows us to perform institutional-levelassessment • What we want our students to knowupon degree completion
