  2. The importance of good housekeeping: • Cleaning down work surfaces. • Filing disks, manuals and unneeded items of equipment into safe storage. • Leaving the work area in a safe and tidy condition.

Cleaning down work surfaces. • Remove dirt to reduce bacteria • Remove dust to reduce asthma risk • Filing disks, manuals and unneeded items of equipment into safe storage. • So that they can be found when needed • So that they don’t get damaged or lost • Reduce risk of injury from falling items • Leaving the work area in a safe and tidy condition. • So that anyone else working there is safe • To demonstrate a professional and efficient attitude • Isolate power supplies when not in use to eliminate the risk of electric shock, fire, or equipment malfunction
