  2. Bindle • Noun • A blanket carried over the shoulder that carries small items • The homeless man carried all his possessions in his bindle.

  3. Bunk House • Noun • A building that provides sleeping quarters for workers on a ranch or farm • During the Great Depression, it was not unusual to see twenty people sleeping in a bunk house to stay warm.

  4. Mollified • Adjective, verb • Smothered; pacified • The mother mollified her screaming child by feeding him. • The mollified baby slept happily.

  5. Ejector • Noun • The mechanism of a gun that throws the empty cartridge of a fired bullet. • The ejector had so much power that it threw the empty cartridge ten feet into the air!

  6. Gingham • Noun • A cotton cloth, usually woven in stripes or checks • Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz wore a blue and white gingham dress.

  7. Wrest • Verb • To twist and/or jerk • My uncle was forced to wrest the knife from the child before he hurt himself.
