  3. SCHEDULING INFORMATION

  4. SCHEDULING DATES Scheduling Window: February 12th - February 25th If you do not sign up for classes during this window, they will be selected for you. Course Selection Labs: Wednesdays after school 2/14 & 2/21 MWF during Success/Lunch 2/13, 2/14, 2/16, 2/19, 2/21, 2/23 SIGN UP! https://tinyurl.com/schedulingquestions Curriculum Fair: February 15th5:00-8:00pm Parent Night for Current Students: February 15th at 7:00pm

SCHEDULE • Standard Schedule • 6 Classes + Flex Period • If students pass 6 classes per year all 4 years of high school, they will earn 240 credits. 230 credits are required to graduate. • Seniors in good academic standing with at least 180 credits at the beginning of 12th grade may choose to take 5 Classes + 2 Flex Periods * Some students may choose to take 7 classes. Students with a 7-period day do not have a flex periodand should anticipate additional homework and demands on their time.

  7. HONORS & AP MHHS recommends a maximum of 2Honors or AP classes per year.

  8. SPECIAL PROGRAMS MHHS Professional Pathways Earn special recognition at high school graduation if you complete one of the MHHS professional pathways! More information about the pathways is available on the MHHS counseling website. MHHS Online Program This program can be a good option for self motivated, goal oriented, independentlearners. Interested students must apply and go through an interview process to participate. More information about this program can be found on the MHHS website.

  9. GRADUATION & COLLEGE REQUIREMENTS

  10. MHHS GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS *students must pass a class with a grade of D or better to earn credits

MORE GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS Students must also complete the following to receive a high school diploma. • Service Requirement: students must complete 40 hours of community service • State Algebra Requirement: students must pass at least one year of a course with Algebra 1 content (this can be met with Math 1B, Math 1, Math 2, or Math 3) • School Attendance Requirement: students must attend high school for all four years Meeting the high school graduation requirements prepares students to attend community college, trade school, or enter the world of work.

  12. A-G REQUIREMENTS • A-G is a sequence of 15high school courses. • Students must earn a grade of C or better in each of these courses. • Completing this sequence makes students minimally eligible for admission to the University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) schools.

  14. CREDIT RECOVERY If you earned a grade of F in any semester of a high school class, you may need credit recovery in order to graduate. If you earned a grade of D or F in any semester of a high school class, you may need credit recovery to be college eligible. There are several options for credit recovery. • 7th class during the school year • Summer School • Online classes • Community College classes • Alternative Education program Email your counselor right away to make a plan for credit recovery if needed.

  16. TRANSCRIPT DEFINITION A high school transcript is a permanentrecord of your academic accomplishments in high school. Your MHHS transcript includes: • Every class you took in high school • When you took the class • The final letter grade you earned at the end of each semester • The number of credits you earned for each class • A credit summary • Your cumulative high school GPA

PURPOSE • To apply to college • Arguably the most important part of your college application • Colleges can learn a lot about you from your transcript • To graduate high school • Counselors review your transcript to make sure you have met all of the graduation requirements to earn your high school diploma • You also need a transcript if you transfer to another high school • To apply for jobs • Some jobs require you to submit your high school transcript when you apply

  18. SAMPLE TRANSCRIPT 2 Semesters = 1 Year Grade 9 Semester 1 Credit ATTEMPT Credit COMPLETE Grade 9 Semester 2 Summer School: D+ is remediated (credits zeroed out in 9th grade attempt).
