  3. Two-Quarter Schedule • If you are on the two-quarter schedule, this is your last quarter • You must build AND test this quarter • Get and stay busy! • You must have taken ME 463 by the time you get out • You are excused from the in-lab group activities for ME 481 ME 481

  4. Two-Quarter Schedule • You must schedule a weekly group meeting with your lab advisor • You give your Final Design Presentation here at Cal Poly on Wednesday (need to sign up for a time) • You travel to your sponsor’s next week for a Critical Design Review • Your Final Design Report is due this Friday at 5 p.m. ME 481

  5. Three-Quarter Schedule • Your Final Design Presentation at Cal Poly is next Wednesday (4/8) – need to sign up for a time • Final Design Report is due Friday of third week at 5 p.m. • Critical Design Review at sponsor’s during fourth week ME 481

  6. For Both Groups • You are expected to attend all design presentations given by the teams in your lab section at Cal Poly • See respective syllabi at www.calpoly.edu/~fowen/me428 for deliverables’ due dates ME481

  7. General Plan (3-Qtr) • We shall meet labs on Mondays to cover issues in engineering ethics • Wednesdays are for weekly meetings with your lab advisors ME 481

  8. Critical Design Review Make sure your travel forms are current for your trip ME 481

  9. Ethics Start-Up • Familiarize yourself with the Code of Ethics of ASME and NSPE (National Association of Professional Engineers) • http://files.asme.org/ASMEORG/Governance/3675.pdf • http://www.nspe.org/Ethics/CodeofEthics/index.html • There are two main assignments: • Team Project – Case Study (20% of ME 481 grade) • Individual Report – Ethics Memo (15% of ME 481 grade) ME 481

  10. Very Important! Two-quarter students: • Senior Exit Exam: Thursday, 23 April, 6-9 p.m., 10-221, 222, 223 • Counts 15% of ME 481 grade • Lab advisors will hand out FE manuals for you to study with ME 481
